From LencoHeaven to Closer Acoustics – My Journey

Hi everyone,
I wanted to start this section by sharing a bit of my own story and how the passion for sound led to the creation of this place.
My journey with high-end audio didn't start in a boardroom, but on another community forum – Lencoheaven.net (under the nickname Jaco). It all began with the legendary Lenco L75 turntable. I built my first custom Lenco and, back in 2011, I decided to take it to the Lenco Meeting in Beauvechain, Belgium.
That trip changed everything for me.
It was there that I first heard full-range speakers (Philips 9710M Alnico) in Saba Reso cabinets. I was in shock. They didn’t play everything perfectly, but for a certain repertoire, the experience was so incredibly vivid and real that I couldn't go back.
After returning to Poland, I immediately bought vintage Philips 9710 units and started experimenting with various cabinets. My search for even better performance led me to modern drivers – first to Supravox, and later to the legendary EMS (the Fertin family).
While working with Supravox drivers, I discovered a diffused resonance cabinets. When I brought those speakers to another Lenco Meeting in Beauvechain, someone told me they had never heard Supravox sound that good. That was the "spark."
In 2013, Closer Acoustics was born.
This forum, OGY SOUND, is a continuation of that passion for full-range sound and thoughtful listening. Whether you are a DIY-er, a music lover, or a gear enthusiast, I’m happy to have you here.
